Jocelyn Early
Jocelyn received her bachelor's degree in Molecular Genetics and Cell Biotechnology from the Washington State University. As a student, Jocelyn was an active member of a breast cancer research team, exploring signaling pathways involved in cell proliferation. After graduating with honors, Jocelyn gained further research experience at OHSU, using fruit flies to study signaling pathways leading to differentiation of stem cells. Through her research in these two facilities, Jocelyn developed excellent sterile lab technique, familiarity with many common lab procedures as well as a working knowledge of cell biology and differentiation.
Jocelyn came to SRM in 2005 and brought with her a desire to learn everything she could about fertility. The direct connection between biotechnology, cell biology and helping patients is what drew Jocelyn to embryology. Jocelyn utilizes her background in both genetics and biotechnology by specializing in PGD biopsies and oocyte vitrification. Not only is she thrilled to work in such a dynamic and growing field, but she loves that she can see a tangible positive outcome to her work on a daily basis.
In her free time, Jocelyn enjoys maintaining a delicate balance between lounging, and rigorous activity. Her lounging activities largely involve crocheting while watching Sci-Fi. Rigorous activity typically revolves around trying to exhaust her big floppy puppy and training for triathlons. Jocelyn is well known for her pie baking skills and laughing at her own jokes.
