Gretchen Sewall RN, LICSW

Ms Sewall is a licensed, clinical social worker and registered nurse in the State of Washington. She graduated from Seattle University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1982 and a Master in Social Work from the University of Washington in 1990. As an undergraduate she worked as a pediatric and high risk perinatal nurse.
From 1990 to 2003, she advanced her career by holding several positions at the University of Washington Medical Center Fertility & Endocrine Center. She was a clinical and research nurse, the Donor Egg Clinical Manager and the Director of Counseling Services at the Fertility and Endocrine Center. When The Fertility & Endocrine Center closed in 2003, Gretchen joined Seattle Reproductive Medicine as a Reproductive Health Counselor. She is a nationally recognized speaker, professional leader and author in the field of reproductive technology and education.
Her areas of focus are third party reproduction and family building, reproductive loss, adoption and patient education.
Recently, Gretchen was invited to participate in the development of the National Gamete Donor Registry (NGDR). The Registry is a nonprofit organization currently being developed to address national medical records management, education and research associated with anonymous egg, sperm and embryo donation. In 2008 she was elected as the Vice Chair of the Board of Directors for the NGDR. The National Registry is the next step in the advancement of gamete donation and family building in the United States.
